The Beatles Ain't Nothin Ta Fuck Wit.

Props to Mr. Caruana for this mash-up. Two of my favorite musical acts from two very different genres coming together to make one very unique album. Wu-Tang vocals mixed over music by The Beatles. Download it here.

If that ain't enough Beatles infused hip-hop for ya, check out Danger Mouse's The Grey Album, which mixes rapper Jay-Z's The Black Album with The Beatles' The White Album.

This mash-up (which you can download here) became so popular, EMI (Electrical & Musical Industries Ltd.) attempted to halt it's online distribution because fuck you that's why. It also caught the ear of Gorillaz creator Damon Albarn, who, thoroughly impressed with Danger Mouse's mad skills, recruited him to produce Demon Days, one of my favorite albums ever.

808's and Heartbreak Customs

Hi! I'm BestKeptSecret the new writer for ListenUp. Brennan asked me to write with him because he said it would bring new perspectives to the blog. But honestly, I think it's just because he's lazy as fuck. I'm a huge fan of kicks, so I decided to make my first post about these amazing Nike AF1 customs by Mache & emmanuelabor. Inspired by Kaw's promotional artwork off of Kanye West's album 808's and Heartbreak:

If you readers out there want your own pair of custom shoes, you can myspace these guys and get them to make whatever you have in mind...for a fee of course.

Sundays Are For Looking Good.

Where It All Started...

KR3W Apparel has influenced my style of dress since 2005. They are really unique, I like that. KR3W Apparel, caters to "slim" people like myself. I believe that if something doesn't fit properly, then you shouldn't wear it; Just a waste of money, I have taught myself over the years. KR3W is leaning to more "fashion" pieces which is nice. I feel like Kr3w has been following my mood since I started wearing there product. First started wearing there product when they were all about patterns and repeating logos. At the time, I liked that alot... but looking back... I wish I could forget that "stage" of my life, hhaha. Now, they are putting more thought into what really makes something look good... minor details. Here is an example:

Sundays Are For Looking Good.

Every Sunday, I am going to "profile"... a "style"... a person that I think is dressing "well"... or a brand. I am really into fashion, streetwear and shoes, so I wanna let you know where I am influenced by. ListenUp.

Photography has been around for decades; its a way people can express there mood, feeling, and creativity. Photography is one of my favorite art-forms, and I would love to get back with a camera.

Supra has been putting out alot of "different" shoes(sneakers?) out lately, some "out there" and some are actually pretty dope. These ones remind me of a "Skytop", "Dixon","Suprano", and a "Timberland" mixed together.

Levi Maestro.

Levi Maestro, rising film maker, skater, blogger, and creator. At a young age, and coming up as a "nobody" (in a nice way) he has done alot for himself in the past couple years. Maestro Knows started as a personal blog (like inno), then the living in LA part of his life slowly made his creative mind, create great things. Quickly, he started meeting names like "Anthony Hamilton", and "Eric Koston". Which led to "bigger" projects, "Maestro Knows", an online show based around his day-to-day life in the LA area, meeting up with "big" name celebrities and creating videos with them. He has also produced: numerous footage for corporations, and musicians, as well as, a recently released tee shirt with "13TH Witness"(a up and coming photographer).

Levi inspires me because he is doing this all, at a young age. He prefers quality over quantity, which is key. I am hoping to learn from him and continue to grow over time, I have had a lot of good things happen to me, "career" wise, in the last year. It doesn't stop at success, it stops at perfection.

"Its Funny How You Ask Me How Ever Many Years Ago Did I Ever Think A Time Like This Would Come Into Play? I Would Have Had To Say No Because The Truth Is, I Had No Idea. Thats Whats Really Cool About Letting Things Happen And Not Worrying About The Future. If Your Doing What Your Supposed To Be Doing, Everythings Gonna Work Its Self Out. Just Like I Told Myself Before.. You Gotta Work Hard And Do For Yourself 'Cuz Nobody Else Is Gonna Do What You Want For You."-Levi Maestro.

Here is just a sample of what work he does:
