Cut & Sewn | Maestro X Hall Of Fame

Levi Maestro has been killing it the last two years with his Maestro Knows project. Single handedly changed the idea of a blog/video series. Changing it for the better, while incorporating a bunch of genres (music, skateboarding, fashion, streetwear) into one big project all while documenting his life. His style, uniqueness and creativity can not be taught in a book or class room. Maestro is an artist in his own genre that noone can duplicate.

His creativity can not only be used in a blog or video, but also in fashion and streetwear. He has released quite a few collaborations this year, with the likes of: Los Angeles jeweler Shayan Afshar, 13TH Witness,  and Yue Wu. Each having it's own hype and story behind the product. Recently, Maestro teamed up with Hall Of Fame to produce this sweatshirt:

Maestro has always been a huge supporter of Hall Of Fame, supporting them as a shopper... as well as an occasional visit during a Maestro Knows episode. I love collaborations with a story behind the product and when they work flawlessly together. This sweater is that case, everything about it is cool and original. The front logo gives off a simplistic look to the piece, while the back tells the entire story "Making My Way To The Hall Of Fame". At the rate Levi Maestro is working and progressing... I wouldn't be surprised if they made a "Hall Of Fame" for him.

#jussayin | Maestro Knows: My Friend Benny Gold

All I can/want to say is: Stay true to yourself, your dreams, your heritage, and your brand. Never drift away from what got you where you started, grow with your true self. Never try to be something your not. Benny Gold is that kind of guy: genuine and real. Check out what he is all about:

13th WITNESS.

Maestro’s got 7

It’s only right that I begin my first & only interview series with my cohort in creation….13th Witness. One of our next generations most individually creative, respectable, and acclaimed photographers. Give it up or give in, either way we’re all winning.

What type of animal, fictional character or social figure could you compare yourself to & why?
A Monster cause I don’t give a s**t, because my work is my life, my life is my work. If I dont rep for myself, who will?

How many languages do you speak & at what age did you learn each?
I speak 3, being that my mother is French I grew up speaking French with her and english with my father,
it was my second language just like any other friends I had who had parents that immigrated to America.
I learned my 3rd language (Japanese) after moving to Japan straight out of high school. I remember seeing and hearing all these things around me and wanted to know more, so I dedicated myself to learning the language and after about 2 years I was well able to get by.

What effects did living in Japan for 4 years have on your life?
It made me see the world differently. It gave me experiences that molded me to be who I am today.
Without Japan, there may have never been a 13th WITNESS, real talk.

So then Japan played a dominant influence in your creativity and need to showcase the world through your eyes?
Absolutely. It visually inspired me to capture life, colors, movements, people and essentially the world around me.

Can you list 3 words in order of importance that describe your creative process?
Witness.Capture.Share or Witness.Capture.Create.

Who are your top 3 favorite creators of all time?
Director – Kubrik.
Artist – Futura.
Music – Tribe Called Quest.

Do you think one day you will let me buy that BAPE coffee table you have?
Surely, but only if you buy it with the matching rug.

Phillip Annand Talks.

"At any rate, My good friend Kevin Lanre runs a program over in the UK called Street Talk. Basically they walk around London and get into all sorts of grand conversations with blokes of all sorts. Generally, interesting things tend to get underway over the course of these conversations and I’ve become a pretty large fan of the show since stumbling across it way back. It’s also probably important to mention that I believe Kevin was the second person to interview me for anything “Award Tour” related. Way back when it the collection was four shirts and no one really cared about what some kid in New Jersey was printing up in his spare time, well..except Kevin I guess. Enough nonsense, Kevin and his bruvs flew over to NYC this Summer and shot a bunch of episodes. They got me to sit down and chat some absolute nonsense. Hopefully you enjoy."-The Award Tour

Phillip is a very creative and inspiring human being. He is working with big names like Hypebeast, and Maestro, to name a few. Although still very humble, You will see alot of great things from him in the future. Can't wait to see what The Madbury Club will bring to the table.

Inspiration Monday.

Levi Maestro.

Levi Maestro, rising film maker, skater, blogger, and creator. At a young age, and coming up as a "nobody" (in a nice way) he has done alot for himself in the past couple years. Maestro Knows started as a personal blog (like inno), then the living in LA part of his life slowly made his creative mind, create great things. Quickly, he started meeting names like "Anthony Hamilton", and "Eric Koston". Which led to "bigger" projects, "Maestro Knows", an online show based around his day-to-day life in the LA area, meeting up with "big" name celebrities and creating videos with them. He has also produced: numerous footage for corporations, and musicians, as well as, a recently released tee shirt with "13TH Witness"(a up and coming photographer).

Levi inspires me because he is doing this all, at a young age. He prefers quality over quantity, which is key. I am hoping to learn from him and continue to grow over time, I have had a lot of good things happen to me, "career" wise, in the last year. It doesn't stop at success, it stops at perfection.

"Its Funny How You Ask Me How Ever Many Years Ago Did I Ever Think A Time Like This Would Come Into Play? I Would Have Had To Say No Because The Truth Is, I Had No Idea. Thats Whats Really Cool About Letting Things Happen And Not Worrying About The Future. If Your Doing What Your Supposed To Be Doing, Everythings Gonna Work Its Self Out. Just Like I Told Myself Before.. You Gotta Work Hard And Do For Yourself 'Cuz Nobody Else Is Gonna Do What You Want For You."-Levi Maestro.

Here is just a sample of what work he does:

Maestro Knows and 13TH WITNESS. NYC

I always can relate to/respect guys like these. People that live/love there job. When you go home and you create or recreate images/ideas that help you broaden your strengths. When you see that you have a special talent in something, soccer, writing, drawing, retail, or whatever it maybe. Don't ever give up on your dreams, because one day something amazing will happen to you if you work hard and do what your supposed to be doing, maybe you will get that promotion, or that extra compliment that will help you continue to be yourself. Just do what you love and noone can get in your way.
