Tuesdays With W.I.L.T.

Theo Martins has just entered my daily playlist and he isn't leaving. DJ, Artist, and Rapper from Rhode Island, with all these new developing generations of music... It's hard to tell who is the real deal, lets just say; Theo is here to stay. I compared his sound to, Theophilius London and Lupe Fiasco... not a bad comparison at all.

Up Beat, techno inspired Hip-Hop. Teaming up with: U-N-I, Jesse Boykins III, and Curt@!n; and Mixed by Wreckineyes.

Chilled down Theo Martins on this one.

Nike SB Green Bruin.

I know this is a little late posting this... since this was from December, it's been sitting on my desktop for a long while. These are by far the top 5 shoes from Nike SB that I have seen so far this year.

I have been searching and searching for these shoes... contacting Jon from Nike SB, etc. But I have no idea when and where these are releasing. I love this shoe so much. White accents with the all Kelly Green profile, Mint laces and Teal tongue... Damn. I want these. Size 12 please.

Stefan Janoski White Perf.

I've never wanted a pair of shoes sooo bad. When I first laid eyes on these, I was looking for some pairs of Vans... I ended up stumbling upon these in a blog forum. They are super clean looking, stitched swoosh blends in nicely with the all white profile. Black tubing above the vulcanized sole allows character to the shoes. Right now, I have a huge obsession with leather laces, so I'm stoked on these. This is my next "wear everyday" shoe, no socks thou... don't worry my feet smell good all the time.

Luckily for me... Momentum Marketplace is receiving these next month! Stoked! I have access to an 11, 12, and 13. Most luckily gonna cop the 11 for optimal fit and stretch of the shoe.

Tuesdays With W.I.L.T.

I first heard No Age about two years ago, when I was watching a skate video, it was an Altamont demo. I was stoked on them, the past four months or so... they are on my daily playlist. Super chill, rock duet.

Gone.

I thoroughly enjoy it when I get visuals for songs that I love. Donnis' "Diary Of An ATL Brave" is by far one of my favorite party/cruising/lounging mixtape; my favorite track being "Gone"... This is a breathe of fresh air. Cameos from A-Trak and Estelle.

SBC Business Magazine Tapped My Phones!

In October 2009, I received a phone call from a 'lovely' lady from SBC (one of Canada's Largest Skate/Snow Magazines). She was asking to speak to the person who was around the shop all the time(Myself). She continued to ask me various questions revolving around the subject: "Shop Rat". After numerous questions and approximately 13 minutes, we ended the conversation. Little did I know that my "quote" from the conversation... (That I didn't know was being recorded) was later put into the "Open Mic" section of the next SBC Business Magazine.
For weeks and months, I was searching around the city to check if any store carried SBC Business Magazine. I searched and searched with no luck. In the start of the new year, I received a phone call from my boss and friend, Asif... He was at a trade show, and stumbled upon the SBC Business Mag... (Asif and Kent had no idea that I had an interview, but were reading the magazine to pass time) they informed me that they found my article, (when they said that... I totally thought "SHIT! what did I say? I can't remember!") and proceeded to laugh.
I thought it was ironic that they interviewed an "ex"? shop rat. All the employees at Momentum agreed that as well. See, I was that guy who stopped in every day and looked around for hours, chatted with Jurr, looked at shoes, and then came back&bought items.

Pharrell Interview.

Pharrell sits down with French Magazine BLAST. They talk about war, art, and Pharrell's ever so popular "Tank Chair" design. Pharrell is probably the most versatile artist I can think of. Musician, Artist, Designer, Producer, Director, and Fashion Designer.. did I miss anything? All I can say is... When you have to passion and desire for something so broad, don't stay on one pedistal.

Don't Let Me Fall.

Big Things in The Works.

Heist Aesthetics: Up and Coming. I thoroughly enjoy it when someone has a passion for something and they take what they want; to the next level.

Conner from Heist, has been a real dude. Very knowledgable, and a great guy. A loyal customer, and friend that knows what he wants. He has been experimenting with fashion for a while now. I really like what I see.

I am pleased to be saying that... Heist & ListenUp. have something very big in the works, keep your eyes peeled for the next couple of weeks. So stoked!

Tuesdays With W.I.L.T.

Since twisting the title of Justin Timberlake’s 2006 album, FutureSex/LoveSounds, to create his remarkable 2009 debut mixtape, FutureStreet/DrugSounds, Dom Kennedy has established himself as part of California’s next generation of rappers. On his latest project, From the Westside, With Love, he continues to forge his identity by repping his coast and explaining more about his upbringing in the City of Angels.
Still relatively new to the game, Kennedy begins by reintroducing himself. On the low-key intro, “In Memory Of,” he breaks down his rap persona and loftily compares his style to hip-hop royalty. “I don’t know a nigga that could scribe like this,” he raps, “and you ain’t probably heard nothin’ since Tribe like this.” On the sparsely-produced “1997,” he recalls his first drink, his first love and, most importantly, the first time he realized he had skills on the mic.
Unfortunately, towards the middle of the mixtape, Kennedy gets a little too infatuated with the idea of catering to female listeners. He raps about hotel rendezvous on “The Hotels,” settling down with “the one” on “Love the Future,” and computer love on “Speaker Phone (Dial 143).” But it only results in a slight detour before the rookie returns to form on the soulful “Long Way Home,” where he boastfully explains how and why he’s been able to come such a long way in a short time. From the Westside, With Love helps Kennedy set himself up as a future ambassador of Cali. It’s more than enough to give him the right to throw up the W with love. —Chris Yuscavage(XXL)

Dom Kennedy is really doing something different than a lot of the up & coming faces of hip hop. I wasn't totally a fan of Dom when he released "Future Street/Drug Sounds"... but I get it now. "From The Westside With Love" brings a chill atmosphere to the table. Thoroughly enjoy it, it has been playing everyday for the past five days.
