Never Thought I'd Say This.

Style in Streetwear has been moving soo fast! We are seeing cleanliness and simplicity in all things fresh and new, in apparel and footwear. Style and silhouettes are completely going in directions where we never thought possible, taking the silhouette from a mens dress shoe and putting it in something more streetwear-esque. Wingtips are hitting the footwear scene hard.

I have discovered a new sense of style and fashion from my friend JJ, knows what is what. Very ahead for his age. He always shows me what he likes from brands I would never even think about buying. Like Ransom for instance, Check out these Dune Boots by Ransom X Adidas, rip-stop on a mint green nylon... very clean. I like these alot, I wouldn't say I'd purchase them yet but!, I can now see the direction.

Every thursday is Thursdays with Apollo, as of now, every thursday I will post work from Apollo.

Here is episode 1:

KanyeWest "Coldest Winter". Directed by: Nabil Elderkin.

Finally a visual for this real great track off of "808's and Heartbreaks", this video was actually directed by the same guy who worked with Kanye for the Glow in The Dark Book. Both, the book and this video, are really good. I would like to see more from this man named Nabil.

ALSO!

New Zealand so far...

It's been a while I know! It's raining today in Taupo, so the crew is having a lazy day. I finally pitched in for some wireless internet so I got time for a brief update. I touched down in Auckland and spent a week there pretty much waiting for our tour bus to come. Not much to do there except go to clubs. Sometimes even a nightclub! Some of them even give you free food and drinks on certain days. After Auckland, we went to Rotorua, which has crazy awesome geothermic activity, geysers and mud pools. It smells like rotten eggs, so if you're into that check it out. Following that was Waitomo, where we explored the legendary Waitomo caves. We were 11 stories underground. There were glowworms, zip-lining, tubing, waterfall climbing and cookies involved. Hands down one of the coolest things I've ever done. We hitchhiked to Raglan which was a surfer town to do some surferering. It's a pretty easy sport to pick up, especially if you're a skater or a snowboarder. After Raglan we ended up in Taupo which is where I am right now. It's my third day here. Yesterday we went skydiving! The picture above is just before we got on the plane. That's Cooper, Sara, Jesse, Ross and Me. We went up 15000 feet in the plane and freefalled for about a minute before deploying the parachute. It was pretty exhilarating. If you've ever been ice-fishing, you'll know what I'm talkin' bout. Tomorrow we are going to hike Mount Ngauruhoe, which you may know as the mountain used as a stand-in for Mount Doom from Lord of the Rings. Thats about the sum up of all coolest things I've done here so far. I'll definitely keep y'all posted when I can.

Tuesdays With W.I.L.T.

This past week, I have been jamming out to Mickey Factz "The Dark Phoenix:Alpha". Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix being my favorite (non-Rap) album of 2009, I felt like this mixtape was ment for me. Seeing as all of the beats were sampled from the ever-so-popular Phoenix album. Its a non-stop thrill, ListenUp.

UNDFTD. SPRING 2010.

Although, I have no clothing from UNDFTD and I haven't seen a lot of there previous seasons, I am a really big fan. I discovered them about 6 months ago, I like there 'clean' and 'quality' over 'quantity' mentality. This season added color and a nice "cut and sew" button up. Everything looks really good. Im going to cop the Black Pullover Hoody.

HUF. Spring 2010.

Super clean, everything looks real good. I'm liking alot of this.

Wiz Khalifa- This Plane. Official Music Video.

I was super stoked when I found this. Wiz Khalifa has been pretty under the radar lately, he is under the shadows of Cudi and Drake. But, I feel like he has a lot of potential. "This Plane" is off of "Deal Or No Deal", his breakthrough album. Probably, one of my favorite songs off the album.

Download: Deal Or No Deal.

I'm Just Embarrassed.

Every year, I cannot wait for NBA All-Star Weekend. Mainly, because I love to see the creativity in the Dunk Contest. Every Year, I would have a favorite, like Gerald Green, Andre Iguodala, Dwight Howard and Vince Carter. All those, were really entertaining years. Prior to those past winners, the NBA All-Star Committee were planning on getting rid of the Dunk Contest because the athletes weren't putting the creativity that is needed to entertain.

I have never been so disappointed in a Dunk Contest, usually I can find a characteristic to entertain me. But, this year the creativity was awful. Gerald Wallace being 6'7" and having a ridiculous 'reach' was dunking like he had cement shoes. Nate Robinson did his typical dunks that he did the previous years, he was just playing safe, I think he should just retire his dunks or think of something different. Shannon Brown was just boring... the only thing he did that was cool was... getting a previous Dunk Contest Winner(Kobe Bryant) to help him with the crowd. Demar Derozan should have won in my opinion, although he did do too much, he did 'soar' higher up than any contender.

Watch the video below, to see what I mean.

WE ARE THE WORLD.

Thousands of children and families are suffering from the devastation from Haiti earthquakes. There is always a way that you can help, from donating shoes, to selling t-shirts&beanies, or you could download this song on itunes.

Please find a way to help out.

Fotography Fridays.

There are alot of people out there with a camera, people that shoot pictures at parties, people that think they are good at photography... then there are people that are photographers. Photography is an artform that can express your mood as a photographer and the mood of the people in your photos.

I met Jeremy Marucot a while back, when I was a young kid, shopping at Momentum. He is a great guy, and helped me get to where I want to be. Jeremy is an avid sneaker collector, and as he would say "over two hundy purr", he knows alot about shoes, clothing and ... photography.

Jeremy has been shooting photography for a while now. Learning as he goes, and a very good photo editor. Jeremy doesn't have a one type of photography that he "sticks" to, but he does have a distinct style that can be recognized as his. He did my grad photos last year, they turned out real good.

Here is some of Jeremy's work:

Nike SB. Don't Fear The Sweeper. Part 3.

Tuesdays?... Thursdays... With W.I.L.T.

Okay, so I know watching doesn't start with an "L" but I have been watching these videos more then listening to music today.

Daichi Ito is Japanese, and (according to JJ) he works for Stussy. He has a very "unique" way to ask questions, he is very entertaining, some people think he is funny(me being one of these people). This being said, he doesn't ask the traditional questions, he rather focuses on what he thinks they are all about. Most of the time he is wrong, this is why he is so entertaining. Daichi is the "face" of Limited Edition TV, he focuses on interviewing previous and future collaborators of Nike Sportswear.

Tuesdays With W.I.L.T.

This past week I have been listening to the same old stuff, usually would just throw in "So Far Gone" or "The Warm Up". But, yesterday I was searching for something different, something that was fresh to my ear.

I threw on Donnis' "Diary Of An Atlanta Brave" Mixtape, and I was stoked. Every song, is a hit. Production supplied by, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Needlz and more. He also worked with Bun B, Colin Munroe, etc. Released the mixtape with 10 DEEP, after names like KiD CuDi, and Wale.

Download the Free Mixtape Here

watch the trailer for the mixtape, below.

The Hundreds Johnson Low. Spring 2010.

The Hundreds really put out a "solid" line-up(no pun intended..) this spring. With alot of there "pieces being plain/clean, and colorful. I don't know if you have worn the Johnson model before?... but I have, I have 3 pair, right now they are in my weekly rotation, super comfortable, dress up or dress down you will look good either way. They give off a "sneaker" vibe, but in reality they are skate shoes.

Check out the new colorways in the low model, personally I like all of them.

If your looking for a shop that carries The Hundreds Footwear, and you live in Saskatchewan;
Check out Momentum on 8th Street.

D.Wade Is Intense.

KiD CuDi is an actor.

Crooks&Castles. Spring 2010 LookBook.

I'm actually really surprised by Crooks&Castles this season, usually they aren't as clean or fashion oriented. All these "looks" look real good, my favorite is the one with the white 5 panel and navy jacket. Check out Momentum Marketplace for Crooks and Castles, word on the street is they just received a couple of boxes from them.
